CIB (GH) Elects New President and Executive Members
The Managing Director of Merchant Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Peter Iliasu, FCIB, has been elected as the new President for the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Ghana).
Mr. Iliasu, a banker by profession and a Fellow of the Institute, was elected unopposed at a special general meeting held at the Institute on Thursday 12 August, 2010.
Other officers elected were Mr. Clifford Mettle, FCIB, as Vice-President and Mr. Francis Owusu-Acheampong, ACIB, Treasurer.
Mr. Mettle is the General Manager, uniBank (Ghana) Ltd and Mr. Owusu-Acheampong, ACIB, of Stanbic Bank (Ghana) Ltd.
The new Executive Committee lead by Mr. Iliasu will be installed during the 2010 Annual Bankers’ Dinner in November.
Mr. Iliasu takes over from Mr. Isaac Owusu-Hemeng, FCIB, as President.
The new Executive Committee members are:
• Mr. Peter Iliasu, FCIB - President
• Mr. Clifford Mettle, FCIB - Vice-President
• Mr. Francis Owusu-Acheampong, ACIB - Treasurer
• Mr. C A Martinson, FCIB - Executive Member
• Mr. Yaw Anthony Oppong, ACIB, - Chief Executive, Member Secretary
The elections were conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
